GREAT SOUTHERN TATTOO CO.
PIERCING AFTERCARE PROCEDURE

ORAL AFTERCARE:

Rinse mouth 4-5 times daily with an alcohol free mouthwash for 30-60 seconds after meals and at bedtime during the entire healing period. If you over clean, it may cause discoloration or irritation of the tongue.

BODY AND FACIAL AFTERCARE:

WASH your hands thoroughly prior to cleaning or touching on or near your piercing for any reason;

SALINE soak or use H2Ocean (follow directions on bottle) at least 2-3 times daily. Simply soak directly in a cup of warm saline solution for a few minutes. The longer you soak, the better. For certain placements it may be easier to apply using fresh gauze or a cotton ball saturated with saline solution. A brief rinse will remove any residue;

SOAP no more than once or twice a day. While showering, lather up a pearl size drop of the soap to clean the jewelry and the piercing. Leave the cleanser on the piercing no more than thirty seconds, then rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of the soap from the piercing;

DRY with disposable paper products such as gauze or tissues, because cloth towels can harbor bacteria and catch on new piercings causing injury. Pat gently to avoid trauma.

This provides you with aftercare based on our shops personal experience with products and care. Please follow instructions in order to achieve the best results. Call with any questions or concerns regarding your piercing.

TATTOO AFTERCARE PROCEDURE

Leave your bandage on for 1-2 hours, then remove the bandage;

Wash your hands with a liquid antibacterial soap, then lather a small amount in your palms and gently wash your tattoo with the lathered soap and hot water do not scrub;

Rinse thoroughly with cold water, then pat dry with a clean towel;

Avoid soaking tattoo in water if possible;

Apply a light coat of our aftercare product, never put on in excess, thicker is not better

• DO NOT USE petroleum, lanolin or wax based products – these products are developed to prevent cuts, burns, scrapes, and abrasions from getting infected and are not for the healing of new tattoos. They cause clogged pores, attract debris and airborne bacteria, cling to your clothes and can cause allergic reactions and slow down your healing time;

Avoid itching – keeping the tattoo lubricated will help that situation;

During the healing process scabs may form on the tattoo (DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO DURING THIS TIME) this could result in negative results, pulling color out of the tattoo;

Do not use anything greasy on your new tattoo – let it breathe;

Avoid swimming pools, spas (chlorinated water), tanning and direct sunlight until the tattoo is healed;

Avoid dirt and other irritants;

Use a high number sunscreen at all times when exposing your tattoo to the sun – ON A HEALED TATTOO ONLY – the sun is very damaging to your tattoo, sunscreen will help preserve the color and the life of the tattoo.
